The audit was conducted from 22 to 29 April 2026.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify that Vår Energi, in collaboration with rig operator KCAD, is complying with applicable regulatory and internal requirements related to well planning and drilling, maintenance and crane and lifting operations in respect of the drilling module.
Result
We identified nine non-conformities during the audit. These concerned:
- Storage and handling of explosives
- Storage and handling of radioactive sources
- Training and drills
- Procedures
- Non-conformity handling
- Criticality analyses and barrier elements
- Maintenance programme
- Robust solutions
- Potential for dropped objects
We also identified three improvement points:
- Safety clearance of activities
- Governing documents for lifting operations
- Overview of leased third-party equipment
What happens next?
We have asked the companies to report by 14 August 2026 on how the non-conformities will be addressed and for their assessment of the improvement points observed.
