Whistleblowing

Whistleblowing at work involves an employee speaking out about censurable conditions in their own workplace (their employer’s business). For more detailed information, see the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority’s topic page (in Norwegian only). Read more about whistleblowing at your own workplace.

Whistleblowing concerning possible breaches of the Norwegian Working Environment Act, pursuant to section 18-2, is open to all – including people giving information about workplaces other than their own. The notification form contains some entry fields which are only relevant for whistleblowers reporting conditions in their own workplace. If appropriate, “not applicable” (N/A) can be entered there.
