The audit was conducted from 10 to 21 May 2021.


The objective of the audit was to verify that ConocoPhillips is meeting relevant requirements in the HSE regulations.


Six non-conformities were identified, concerning:

  • Governing and technical operating documents
  • Design of control device and human-machine interface
  • Analyses
  • Performance requirements for the alarm system at Eldfisk S
  • Use of video surveillance in respect of remote control of Eldfisk B
  • Maintenance programme

In addition, four improvement points were identified relating to:

  • Classification
  • Planning and prioritisation
  • Follow-up of completion of platform modifications (GEM project) and handover from project to operation
  • Competence, instruction and training

What happens now?

We have asked ConocoPhillips to report on how the non-conformities will be addressed. The company has also been asked for its assessment of the improvement points observed. The deadline for this is set at 8 November 2021.
