Background
The Snøhvit field is in the southern Barents Sea, and consists of the three deposits of Snøhvit, Albatross and Askeladd. Snøhvit and Albatross came onstream in 2007, while the development of Askeladd is currently underway.
Objective
The objective of the activity was to verify the basis for the choice of solutions in the project phase for Askeladd Vest and ensure that issues relating to health, safety and the environment have been fully clarified.
Result
Two non-conformities were identified in connection with:
- Governing documents
- Performance requirements of barriers prior to major decisions
Two improvement points were also identified relating to:
- Internal HSE requirements
- Leak detection
What happens next?
We have asked Equinor to report on how the non-conformities will be addressed, and for their assessment of the improvement points observed. The reply deadline is set at 20 June 2020.
