Objective

The objective of the audit was to verify that Statoil's management and follow-up of barriers complied with the company's and the authorities' requirements.

Result

Non-conformities were identified in connection with:

  • Risk analysis
  • Evacuation routes
  • Documentation

In addition, improvement points were identified in connection with:

  • Barrier management
  • Competence
  • Temporary equipment

Oseberg

Oseberg is a field in the northern part of the North Sea. The water depth in the area is 100 metres. Oseberg was discovered in 1979, and the plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in 1984. The field has been developed in multiple phases. Production started in 1988.

The Oseberg Field Centre includes three platforms, Oseberg A, B and D, connected to one another with bridges, in the southern part of the Oseberg field, and the Oseberg C platform, which lies 14 kilometres north of the field centre.
