Okea AS – management of risks associated with work involving lead-based surface treatment

The audit was conducted by post in the form of a letter to the company, dated 20 February 2026.

Objective

The objective of the audit was to verify that the company’s management of exposure risk associated with work involving lead-based surface treatment complied with regulatory requirements.

Surface treatment assignments are most often carried out by contractors with specialist expertise in the field. Therefore, the audit furthermore aimed to verify that the operator was fulfilling its responsibility to also ensure a safe working environment for persons other than its own employees, and that the necessary cooperation had been established between employers in order to achieve this.

Result

One non-conformity was identified related to inadequate collection and dissemination of information.
