The audit was conducted from 5 February to 20 March 2026.

Objective

The objective of the audit was to monitor how Island Drilling complies with regulatory requirements for technical safety, safety instrumented systems and electrical facilities.

Result

The audit identified six non-conformities in the following areas:

  • Deficient follow-up of the air damper in the combustion air intake barrier function
  • Deficient follow-up of the emergency lighting for critical areas barrier function
  • Inadequate maintenance programme for technical barrier elements
  • Inadequate design of procedures for the maintenance and inspection of ATEX equipment
  • Deficient risk-reduction measures for work in and operation of electrical facilities
  • Deficient documentation regarding the selectivity of UPS equipped circuits

What happens now?

We have asked Island Drilling to report to us by 1 June 2026 on how the non-conformities will be addressed.
