The audit was conducted from 28 November to 19 December 2023.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to follow up on Equinor’s management of barriers within technical safety and process safety on the Johan Castberg FPSO in the final part of the construction phase. This includes monitoring that the design meets the requirements of the authorities, so as to reduce the risk of failure.
Result
Two non-conformities were identified during the audit. These comprised:
- PSD functions in the ESD system
- Follow-up of running times of PSD valves.
We also observed one factor that we have chosen to categorise as an improvement point. This concerned deficiencies in documentation.
What happens now?
We have asked Equinor to report by 11 March 2024 on how the non-conformities will be addressed, and for their assessment of the improvement point observed.
