The audit was conducted from 25 to 28 August 2020 in cooperation with the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection (DSB).

Objective

The objective of the audit was to monitor how the company complies with the regulatory requirements for electrical facilities, and work in and operation of electrical facilities. Follow-up of the role of responsible person for the electrical facilities was also a key aspect of the audit.

Result

Eight non-conformities were identified in connection with:

  • Barrier management
  • Electrotechnical system analyses
  • Overpressure protection
  • Cable ducts
  • Work in and operation of electrical facilities
  • Responsible person for the electrical facilities
  • Training
  • Maintenance programme relating to electrical facilities and ignition source control

In addition, one improvement point, relating to non-conformity handling, was identified.

What happens next?

We have asked Island Offshore to report on how the non-conformities will be addressed and for their assessment of the improvement point observed. The deadline for this is set at 28 October 2020.
