Objective
The objective of the audit was to assess how Equinor is ensuring compliance with the authorities’ and its own requirements associated with technical safety, barrier management and management of emergency preparedness, and to verify the helicopter deck and its operation on board Åsgard A.
Result
Three non-conformities were identified in connection with:
- System for non-conformity handling
- Barrier management
- Alarm/notification of MOB boat out of service on Åsgard A
In addition, two improvement points were identified in connection with:
- Training and drills
- Rescue of personnel from lockable cabins
Equinor has been given a deadline of 25 January 2019 to report on how the non-conformities and improvement points will be addressed.
On condition that the outstanding non-conformities are rectified and that the improvement points are satisfactorily addressed, the CAA Norway recommends that the helideck at Åsgard A continues to be accepted for helicopter operations.
