Deepsea Atlantic (photo) is a mobile drilling facility built by the DSME shipyard in South Korea. It was completed in 2009.
The drilling facility is operated by Odfjell Drilling AS (Odfjell), and the plan is to use the facility for activities on the Norwegian Shelf with StatoilHydro as the operator.
Decision
Deepsea Atlantic and relevant parts of the Odfjell organisation and management system have been reviewed and found to be in compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements for the petroleum industry.
Our decision is based on information provided in the AoC application regarding the technical status of the facility, the applicant’s organisation and management system, as well as the authorities’ verifications and general procedure.
The validity of the AoC requires that Odfjell ensures that the facility and relevant parts of the company’s organisation and management system are maintained, ensuring that the terms and requirements of the PSA’s decision are maintained.
