Repsol – Consent for exploration drilling in the North Sea

Well 9/2-12 belongs to production licence 910, for which Repsol is the operator. The well had been given the prospect name of Kathryn.

The site where the well is to be drilled is in the south of the northern sector of the North Sea, around six kilometres east of the Yme field and 100 kilometres southwest of Egersund in Rogaland.

The geographical coordinates are:

• 04° 33' 11.62" E

Water depth at the site is 99 metres.

Drilling is scheduled to start in mid-August and expected to last between 29 and 52 days.

The well is to be drilled by the Scarabeo 8 mobile drilling facility.

Scarabeo 8 is a semi-submersible drilling facility of the Moss CS 50 MkII design. It was built at the Fincantieri Shipyard in Palermo, Italy and completed at Westcon’s yard in Ølensvåg in Rogaland county in 2011. Scarabeo 8 received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) from the PSA in 2012.
