The audit was conducted from 9 to 13 February 2026.
Background
"MT Hanne Knutsen" has been converted into a floating storage and offloading unit (FSO) that is permanently stationed on the Martin Linge field and has been named Martin Linge B.
Martin Linge B is a mobile facility sailing under the Norwegian flag that adheres to a maritime operating concept, based on the relevant technical requirements in the Norwegian Maritime Authority’s regulations, as provided for in the Framework Regulations, section 3, with reference to the Facilities Regulations, section 1.
Equinor is the operator of the Martin Linge field, but leases Martin Linge B from Knutsen, which also operates the facility.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify the processes and systems that contribute to ensuring comprehensive emergency preparedness management on board Martin Linge B.
Result
The audit identified no non-conformities, but we observed two matters that we have chosen to categorise as improvement points. This concerned:
- Work arrangements
- Systematic training of deputies in emergency response role
What happens now?
We have asked Knutsen to give us its assessment of the improvement points observed by 29 May 2026.
