The audit was conducted from 11 to 15 March 2024.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to monitor that Equinor undertakes systematic work to meet the requirements for emergency preparedness and reduce the risk associated with helicopter operations at its facilities.
Result
Two non-conformities were identified in connection with:
- obstacles in 210° obstacle-free approach and departure sector of the helideck
- deficient marking of helideck
In addition, seven improvement points were identified, concerning:
- Follow-up of emergency response training
- Sound level in central control room and emergency preparedness room during incidents
- Training of the emergency response organisation on board
- Location of workstation for maritime surveillance
- Maintenance of MOB boat suits
- Siting of the fire stations
- Redundancy in the absence of lifeboat coxswain
What happens now?
We have asked Equinor to report by 16 September 2024 on how the non-conformities will be addressed and for their assessment of the improvement points observed.
