Seadrill has applied for an AoC for the West Bollsta mobile facility.

For the processing of an AoC application, the PSA undertakes audits within a number of selected domains.

From 4 to 11 December 2019, we conducted an audit of the working environment on West Bollsta.

Objective

The objective of the audit was to monitor the status of conformity assessments made of the facility's technical condition, organisation and management systems in relation to the working environment regulations applicable to West Bollsta.

Result

The audit identified six non-conformities and one improvement point.

The non-conformities included:

  • Design of the shale shaker area
  • Work arrangements
  • Ventilation solution in workshops
  • Storage of chemicals
  • Updating of analyses
  • Mapping of noise conditions

The improvement point concerned:

  • Work areas for catering

What happens now?

We have asked Seadrill to report on how the non-conformities will be addressed. We have also asked for an assessment of the improvement point observed. The deadline for replying is set at 2 March 2020.

AoC

Before we issue an AoC, the company must have corrected all known safety-critical non-conformities, and the facility must have been issued with maritime certificates from the appropriate flag state.
