Background
For the Ærfugl project, it is planned to construct production pipes using new technology in the form of pipe-in-pipe with electrical heating (EHTF). It is important for the chosen solutions to be of high quality and for the design, qualification and fabrication of the pipelines to be followed up from manufacture to finished installation.
Objective
The objective of the audit is to verify that Aker BP is following up the fabrication of the EHTF production pipes for Ærfugl comprehensively and that its own follow-up is ensuring good quality. Part of the remit is to audit how Aker BP is fulfilling its supervisory duty in respect of the supplier, Subsea 7.
Result
Two non-conformities were identified relating to:
- Follow-up of other participants
- General analysis requirements
Two improvement points were identified in connection with:
- Use of recognised standards
- Compliance with own requirements
What happens next?
Aker BP has been given a deadline of 2 March 2020 to report on how the non-conformities and improvement points will be addressed.
