We carried out an audit at the construction site for the production unit (PU) in South Korea from 17 to 20 January 2017, with a subsequent meeting at the operational organisation's offices in Stavanger.
Objective
The purpose of the audit was to verify that Total's management of emergency preparedness factors, materials handling and working environment during the project phase and fabrication of the facility comply with the regulatory requirements.
Result
One non-conformity was identified during the audit, linked to the arrangement for offshore cranes.
Improvement points were identified relating to:
- Access in relation to monitoring, control and maintenance
- Governing documentation for lifting operations and preparations for operation
- Measures to combat benzene exposure
- Procedures for noise testing
- Follow-up of actions aimed at experience transfer to the operational phase
Total been given a deadline of 30 April 2017 to report on how the non-conformity will be dealt with and how the improvement points will be assessed.
Martin Linge
Martin Linge is a field near the border to the UK sector in the northern part of the North Sea, 42 kilometres west of the Oseberg field. The water depth is 115 metres. Martin Linge was discovered in 1978 and the plan for development and operations (PDO) was approved in 2012. The development concept is a fully integrated fixed production platform and a floating, storage and offloading unit (FSO) for oil storage. Production started in 2021.
