As regards the design of pipeline systems, ISO 13623 and
DNV-ST-F101 Appendix F should be used, with the following addition: The pipeline system should be laid and designed such that the risk of fire, explosion and other unintended incidents is minimised, and such that the surroundings are affected as little as possible. Distances between pipelines, associated equipment and the surroundings shall be evaluated based on the content's properties, temperature and pressure. The distanced should be dimensioned based on the risk of undesirable incidents such as fire, explosion or spread as a result of emissions/discharges.
The pipeline system should be marked such that its location in the terrain is clearly visible. The parts of the pipeline system that are not covered should be secured so that they are not accessible to unauthorised personnel.
The pressure in the chambers as mentioned in the second subsection, should be possible to read both before start-up and during operation.
