A subsea system is a production system comprising several subsea facilities tied together on the seabed and includes wells, subsea structures and pipelines. These solutions are designed to enable efficient and reliable production of oil and gas without having to develop the area using platforms. There are now more than 350 subsea facilities on the NCS, and they account for over 50% of Norwegian oil and gas production.
Havtil wishes to improve understanding of which solutions are in use and how the requirements for process safety are catered for and realised in the various subsea developments.
The report summarises relevant topics and important observations from a series of meetings with operators and subsea system suppliers.
The report is restricted to well-related equipment and systems for control, monitoring and shutdown.
The report is available in Norwegian only.
