The scope of geotechnical analyses pertaining to site-specific assessments for jack-up facilities will depend on local conditions.
A robust rig, small loads and good ground conditions may justify simple geotechnical assessments.
However, deep water, large loads or demanding ground conditions indicate that more advanced analyses are needed. Demanding ground conditions also require more extensive site investigations and laboratory tests.
This report provides recommendations for site investigations, laboratory tests and establishment of geotechnical parameters to include in the site-specific geotechnical analyses.
The report has been prepared for classic, three-legged jack-up facilities, for locations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
The report must be read in conjunction with referenced industry standards and guidelines.
