Representatives from different industries in a number of European countries will contribute to the webinar.

“The OECD has the global perspective and believes it is important to both see and involve stakeholders across countries and industries,” said Linn Irèn Vestly Bergh, who will give a presentation at the webinar on behalf of Havtil.

“In the petroleum industry, AI solutions that could impact on the risk of major accidents, safety systems, barriers and/or critical infrastructure can be regarded as high-risk use of AI. The use of AI models in operations, planning and decision-support will also directly and indirectly affect safety, the working environment, emergency preparedness and the safeguarding of petroleum activities. Our job is to follow up the industry regarding the management of risk relating to areas such as procurement and operation.

Havtil carries out this follow-up in various ways, by applying the functional, technology-neutral regulations, and gathering and sharing knowledge.

The sharing of knowledge is of course the main aim of the webinar on 5 March too.”

OECD

The OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) is a global forum for cooperation relating to economic and social issues. Among other things, its remit includes wide-ranging tasks linked to the setting of standards in various areas of activity.
The OECD produces important background material for the formulation of Norwegian policy in the form of statistics and economic analyses.

Useful for the industry

“This will be a useful webinar for the industry. Delegates will be able to learn and draw inspiration from other industries and countries, and consider the principles that should be applied in the prevention and management of risk relating to the use of AI in critical infrastructure. No industry will be best served by working on this issue alone," concluded Bergh.

Time: Wednesday, 5 March at 2-4pm
