- Notice of the order was made on 17 December 2025
- The order itself was issued on 28 January 2026
Havtil carried out an audit of the working environment on Askeladden from 21 to 28 March 2025. A report was sent to the company on 26 June 2025, and a response was received on 28 August 2025.
In further follow-up, on 24 November 2025, we received feedback on non-conformity 5.1.1 regarding inadequate training in health risks. In the response, KCAD stated that HSE training adapted to different positions and groups based on their risk exposure is expected to be completed in January 2026. It also emerges that all positions on board must have completed this course by the second quarter of 2026.
The non-conformity regarding inadequate training on health risks relates to findings following the working-environment audit in 2022 (case 2022/1619), which had not been addressed in line with previous feedback from the company. In a letter dated 28 August 2025, the company stated that the training would start on 15 October 2025.
Order
The non-conformity has still not been rectified. Havtil has therefore issued KCAD with the following order:
Pursuant to the Framework Regulations, section 69 concerning administrative decisions, and the Activities Regulations, section 22 concerning safety and working environment training pursuant to the Working Environment Act, we order KCA Deutag to implement the following measures:
- Complete the training packages on health risks as described in the letter of 28 August 2025 and complete customised training for the various positions and groups on board Askeladden by 30 March 2026.
In the feedback, you must attach a list of participants who have completed HSE training adapted to different positions and groups based on their risk exposure, for all shifts.
