Aker BP has applied to Havtil for consent for the disposal of the Hod A facility. We have now granted the company this consent.

Consent for disposal

The Petroleum Act requires the developer of a field to pay for and to carry out – including full or partial removal of facilities and equipment after the production period has ended. The removal work must take place pursuant to the HSE regulations for the petroleum activities, and on the basis of considerations including consent and decommissioning plans.

Hod

Hod is a field in the southern part of the Norwegian sector in the North Sea, about 13 kilometres south of the Valhall field. The water depth is 72 metres. Hod was discovered in 1974, and the plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in 1988. Production started in 1990 and ceased in 2013.

PDO for the redevelopment of Hod with a new unmanned wellhead platform (Hod B) tied-in to the Valhall field centre was approved in 2020. Production from Hod B started in 2022.
