Aker BP has applied to the PSA for consent for the removal and disposal of the Valhall QP superstructure and bridge. We have now given the company consent for this.

The consent, with reference to Section 25 (4) d of the Management Regulations, is granted on the basis of documentation submitted in connection with the application and with the assumptions and obligations this represents, and on the following conditions:

Aker BP shall ensure that the work on Valhall QP in respect of the removal activity is planned and will be carried out in compliance with the Petroleum Act and the Working Environment Act and subordinate HSE regulations, including working hours requirements, with reference to the Framework Regulations Section 7 (2).

Consent for disposal

The Petroleum Act requires the developer of a field to defray the costs of disposal – including full or partial removal of facilities and equipment after the production period has ended. The removal work must take place pursuant to the HSE regulations for the petroleum activities, and on the basis of consent and decommissioning plans.
