Volve is an oil field in the central North Sea around eight kilometres north of Sleipner East. Water depth in the area is 80 metres.

Consent for disposal

The Petroleum Act requires the developer of a field to pay for and to carry out – including full or partial removal of facilities and equipment after the production period has ended. The removal work must take place pursuant to the HSE regulations for the petroleum activities, and on the basis of considerations including consent and decommissioning plans.

The Volve field was discovered in 1993 and the PDO (plan for development and operation) was approved on 22 April 2005. The field began production on 12 February 2008.

The PSA has granted consent for disposal of the facilities in accordance with Statoil's application.
