On 5 November 2014, the PSA gave Statoil consent to construct a new logistics and maintenance building on Melkøya for Hammerfest LNG. Statoil has now received consent for the co-location of office facilities on Melkøya.

There are currently approximately 420 office work stations in the administration building and temporary "Rorhuset" building on Melkøya. Statoil will now be merging them into permanent work stations located in the logistics and maintenance building and existing administration building.

The co-location will reduce the number of work stations by around 70. This is in line with the expected trend in the need for office space on Melkøya and meets the short-term and long-term needs of the facility.

It is planned to remove the "Rorhuset" building once the co-location is completed.
