The audit was conducted from 4 to 28 November 2025.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to assess how Equinor ensures compliance with regulatory requirements concerning the prevention of major accidents and acute personal injuries in the design and follow-up of selected safety functions and the performance of work operations where pressure poses a risk.
Result
In the audit, we identified seven regulatory non-conformities. These concerned:
- Inadequate follow-up of safety instrumented functions
- Deficiencies in overpressure protection
- Deficiencies in the compartmentalisation of fire areas
- Deficiencies in maintenance programme
- Deficiencies in classification
- Deficiencies in the independence of the emergency shutdown system
- Deficiencies in governing and technical operating documents

Equinor has been given a deadline of 13 February 2026 to report on how the non-conformities will be addressed, and for their assessment of the improvement point observed.
