The audit was conducted from 17 to 21 February 2025.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify, through sampling, Floatel's compliance with the HSE regulations on stability, watertight and weathertight integrity, ballast systems, wave strikes on decks, positioning systems and maintenance within maritime systems and seawater pipe systems on Floatel Superior.
Result
The audit identified seven breaches of the regulations. These concerned:
- Deficient operating procedure for the ballast system
- Inadequate specification of operational limitations
- Hand pump for watertight sliding doors
- Weakness in watertight barrier
- Emergency stop for the ballast system
- Maintenance
- Classification
In addition, we observed seven factors that we have chosen to categorise as improvement points. These concerned:
- Damage stability
- Watertight closures
- Uncertainty about the condition of elements intended to ensure watertight integrity
- Procedures
- Barriers
- Dealing with stability incidents
- Inadequate overview of weathertight and watertight partitioning
What happens now?
We have asked Floatel International to report to us by 23 May 2025 on how the non-conformities will be addressed, and to give us their assessment of the improvement points observed.
