The audit was conducted from 10 to 14 February 2025. The audit formed part of our planned activities for 2025 concerning follow-up of Equinor as the operator of the Visund field and Odfjell as the drilling contractor.
The audit comprised the entire facility with its production and drilling module, and included planning and execution of operations within materials handling and work at height, as well as handling and maintenance of lifting equipment and equipment for work at height.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify that the companies’ management of materials handling, lifting operations and work at height on board Visund complied with the requirements.
Result
We identified four non-conformities during the audit. These concerned:
- Lifting equipment in the drilling area (Equinor)
- Emergency operating functions of lifting equipment (Odfjell Technology)
- Loose lifting equipment and forklift (Odfjell Technology)
- Deficient follow-up of scaffold management systems (Equinor)
We also identified one improvement point concerning loose lifting equipment (Equinor).
What happens now?
We have asked the companies to report to us by 31 May 2025 on how the non-conformities will be addressed, and to give us their assessment of the improvement point observed.
