The audit was conducted from 23 to 27 June 2025.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify that Equinor has established systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for barrier management in the areas of well control and emergency preparedness at Visund, so as to reduce the likelihood of failures, hazards and accidents.
Result
We identified four non-conformities during the audit. These concerned:
- Inadequate design of well control equipment
- Lack of risk assessment of configuration of seabed BOP at Visund
- Deficiencies at fire station 2
- Deficiencies in well control procedure
We also identified three improvement points concerning:
- Deficiencies in safety signage
- Missing assessment of evacuation chute positioning
- Inadequate training and drills
What happens next?
We have asked Equinor to report by 17 November 2025 on how the non-conformities will be addressed and for their assessment of the improvement points observed.
