The audit was conducted from 25 to 28 March 2025. The Civil Aviation Authority Norway participated as an auxiliary agency in auditing the helideck and helicopter operations.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify processes and systems at Equinor that contribute to ensuring the comprehensive management of emergency preparedness, and to verify that the helideck complies with regulatory requirements in order to help ensure safe helicopter operations and personnel transport.
Result
In the audit, we identified six regulatory non-conformities. These concerned:
- VHF headsets in lifeboats
- Redundant MOB boat system
- Helideck data
- Obstacles in 210° obstacle-free approach and take-off sector
- Obstacles outside of 210° obstacle-free approach and take-off sector
- Dual Agent unit
We also identified two improvement points. These concerned:
- System for ensuring competence of new personnel in lifeboat coxswain team
- Worn signs at access point
What happens now?
We have asked Equinor to report by 26 June 2025 on how the non-conformities will be addressed and for their assessment of the improvement points observed.
