The audit was carried out from 25 to 27 March 2025 and is part of our case processing of Odfjell Drilling’s application for an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) for Deepsea Bollsta.

Objective

The objective of the audit was to ensure that, having regard to the AoC application for Deepsea Bollsta, Odfjell Drilling complies with the regulatory requirements concerning safe operation of the facility, with a main emphasis on the drilling areas.

Result

The audit identified non-conformities in the following areas:

  • Lack of maintenance
  • Training and drills
  • Design and labelling

The audit identified non-improvement points in the following areas:

  • Potential for falling objects
  • Deficient access arrangements
  • Work on pressurised system

What happens now?

We have asked Odfjell Drilling to report to us on how the non-conformities will be addressed, and for an assessment of the improvement points. The reply deadline is set at 23 May 2025.

Before we issue an AoC, the company must have corrected all known safety-critical non-conformities, and the facility must have been issued with maritime certificates from the appropriate flag state.
