The audit was conducted from 3 to 6 June 2024 and forms part of our processing of COSL’s application for an Acknowledgment of Compliance (AoC) for COSLProspector.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to monitor the status of conformity assessments of the facility’s technical condition, organisation and management systems relative to the regulatory requirements pertaining to working environment, health and hygiene conditions.
Result
We identified eight non-conformities during the audit. These concerned:
- Planning
- Decision support
- Non-conformity handling
- Analysis of ergonomic factors
- Design of systems and equipment
- Analysis of the chemical working environment
- Outdoor work areas
- Employee and user involvement
We also identified an improvement point concerning chemical management.
What happens now?
We have asked COSL to report to us on how the non-conformities will be addressed and for their assessment of the improvement point observed. The deadline for this is set at 15 August 2024.
Before we issue an AoC, the company must have corrected all known safety-critical non-conformities, and the facility must have been issued with maritime certificates from the appropriate flag state.
