The audit was conducted between 25 September and 3 October 2024.

Objective

The aim of the audit was to monitor that Aker BP and Noble Drilling, together with alliance partners and other key suppliers of drilling and well services, comply with the regulatory requirements applying to planning, transfer of experience, risk assessment and performance of activities involved in the drilling of HPHT (high pressure, high temperature) production wells on the Fenris field.

Result

We identified three non-conformities during the audit. These concerned:

  • Requirement for well control competence in governing documents (Aker BP and Noble Drilling)
  • Documentation of equipment-specific training (Noble Drilling)
  • Instruction, training and practice routines relating to personnel tasked with securing barrier functions in the event of a well control incident (Noble Drilling)

What happens now?

We have asked Aker BP and Noble Drilling to report on how the non-conformities will be addressed by 17 December 2024.
