The audit was conducted between April 2023 and February 2024.

Background

Management of major accident and working environment risk requires an understanding of the complex interactions between people, technology and organisations. The use of information and communication technology and accompanying work processes can create challenges that are common to many petroleum industry participants.

Framework conditions in the drilling/well contracts require that the operator cooperates closely with the drilling contractor and drilling and well service company on major accident and working environment risk. In Aker BP, this is done through alliance models, among other things. In the alliance model for jack-up rigs, Aker BP is in partnership with Noble Corporation and Halliburton.

In recent years, Havtil has carried out audits of the HSE consequences of the implementation and operation of fully integrated drilling contracts. This audit is an extension of Havtil's follow-up of the use of new models of cooperation and the possible HSE consequences thereof.

Objective

The objective of the audit was to verify how Aker BP, Noble and Halliburton (the alliance partners) jointly manage risk and ensure continuous improvement in the Noble Invincible alliance model.

Result

No non-conformities were identified during the audit, but we observed one factor that we have chosen to categorise as an improvement point. This concerned:

  • Joint, local working environment committee (FS-AMU)

What happens now?

We have asked Aker BP to provide us with their assessment of the improvement point observed by 18 March 2024.
