The audit was conducted between 5 and 16 December 2022.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to obtain updated information on the status of Vår Energi's handling of our observations following the audit of major accident risk and barriers that was carried out in connection with the application for a life extension for the Balder FPU in 2019.
Result
We identified two regulatory non-conformities. These concerned:
- Documentary basis for management of major accident risk
- Fire and explosion resistance
We also identified two improvement points. These concerned:
- Capacity in the domain of technical safety
- Follow-up of emergency shutdown valves
What happens next?
We have asked Vår Energi to report to us on how the non-conformities will be addressed, and for their assessment of the improvement points identified. The deadline for this is set at 24 February 2023.
