The audit was conducted on 10 and 11 May 2022.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify that Aker BP and the well intervention contractors Schlumberger and Stimwell, through their alliance model, are complying with regulatory requirements during the planning and implementation of well intervention activities, including the identification and management of risk.
We also wanted to verify how Aker BP ensures the involvement of the contractors, and robustly protects the working environment, well integrity and safety in undertaking interventions on one or more normally unmanned facilities (NUF) where well intervention activities are in progress.
In addition we verified that there is sufficient capacity and competence in the planning and implementation phases for well interventions, and that working hours, night work and total workload requirements for all alliance partners were met.
Result
The audit identified two non-conformities and four improvement points.
The non-conformities included:
- Inadequate training and exercises on interactions between NUF and vessels
- Insufficient management and follow-up of the working environment
The improvement points included:
- Working hours scheme for personnel working on NUF
- Inadequate specification of requirements
- Deficient requirements for well control competence in the management system
- Inadequate mapping and analysis of psychosocial and organisational working environment on NUF
What happens now?
We have asked Aker BP to report to us by 16 September 2022 on how the non-conformities will be addressed, and to give us their assessment of the improvement points observed.
