The audit was conducted on 4 April 2019.

Background

Neptune is the operator of the Fenja field, which is presently under development in the Norwegian Sea. Fenja is to be tied to Nord; Equinor is the project manager for the delivery of the risers and Neptune for the pipelines and jumpers. The audit focused on Neptune’s handling of the overall project, interface and follow-up, and supervisory duty in respect of the riser delivery.

Objective

The objective of the activity was to monitor that Neptune has established a system for following up the delivery of flexible pipelines for Fenja and to see how they are ensuring the integrity of the development project. There was a further objective of seeing how the company ensures that the delivery complies with the company’s own requirements as well as the regulatory requirements.

Result

In the audit, improvement points were observed within the following two areas:

  • Follow-up of non-conformities in the management system
  • Technical requirements for flexible pipelines

What happens now?

We have asked Neptune for their assessment of the improvement points observed. The deadline for this is set at 15 June 2019.
