The audit was conducted between 4 and 6 December 2018. The topic of the audit was emergency preparedness, follow-up from last year’s major accident audit and implementation of new requirements in the Major Accident Regulations.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to confirm that Esso is meeting the requirements in the petroleum regulations, the Major Accident Regulations and its own procedures in respect of reducing the likelihood of a major accident.
Result
The audit identified no non-conformities, but two improvement points. These concern training and drills and failure to submit an emergency preparedness plan.
What happens next?
We have asked Esso to report on how they assess the improvement points we observed.
