The audit took place on 11 and 12 December 2018. The topic of the audit was emergency preparedness and the implementation of new requirements in the Major Accident Regulations.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to obtain confirmation that Equinor is meeting the requirements in the petroleum regulations, the Major Accident Regulations and its own procedures in respect of reducing the probability of a major accident.
Result
The audit identified one non-conformity and three improvement points. The non-conformity concerned the performance of training and practice, while the improvement points related to robustness of the emergency preparedness organisation, submission of an emergency preparedness plan and information to the general public concerning safety measures.
We have asked Equinor to report on how the non-conformity will be addressed by 25 January 2019, and to give us their assessment of the improvement points we observed.
