Equinor - Johan Castberg - Design and fabrication of the turret

The audit was conducted on 13 and 14 March 2019.

Objective

The objective of the activity was to ensure that the engineering and fabrication of the turret for FPSO Johan Castberg met the company’s own requirements and the requirements in the regulations. There was a sub-goal of following up how the company performs its supervisory duty in respect of suppliers.

Result

No non-conformities were identified during the audit.

Improvement points were observed, relating to:

• The company’s own follow-up
• Verification of design
• Technical responsibility for structures
• Preparations for operations
• Management of project execution
• Competence management

What happens now?

We have asked Equinor for feedback, including their assessment of the improvement points we observed, by 10 May 2019.
