The audit was conducted on 11 and 12 April 2018.
Background
A revised plan for development and operation (PDO) for the Yme field was approved on 23 March 2018. The development is based in part on the reuse of existing structures from the previous development of the Yme field. Repsol has reported cracks in the concrete foundation of the caisson and indications in some of the existing structures. The analyses showed that, with the installation of a permanent supporting frame for the caisson, the fatigue damage would not increase further. The cracks and crack indications will be frequently inspected until the supporting frame has been installed.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to gain an insight into the analyses made of both measurement data and fatigue in the caisson, the permanent supporting frame and the leg foundations, to check whether the analyses and the assessment to use the existing structural parts with their cracks and low fatigue lives was reasonable, and furthermore that the verifications were comprehensive.
Result
No regulatory non-conformities were identified.
Improvement points was however identified concerning:
- Verification of analyses
- Dispersion of waves
- Analyses of the measurement data
We have asked Repsol to give us their assessment of the improvement points by 23 May 2018.
