Background
Deepsea Atlantic is to be classified by February 2019. We wanted to perform an audit in 2018, divided into two phases – one of the operational/landside organisation (part 1) and a subsequent audit involving an inspection on board at a yard (part 2), if the facility is to be brought into a yard. In part 1 of the audit, we wanted to see how facilities with Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) are handled in operation, especially in respect of preparations for classification within structures and maritime systems.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to confirm, through presentations, discussions and spot checks, that Odfjell Drilling’s safeguarding of structural safety complied with regulatory requirements.
Result
No non-conformities were identified.
An improvement point was identified relating to the follow-up and verification of activities.
Odfjell Drilling has been given a deadline of 12 October 2018 to report on how the improvement point will be addressed.
