From 30 January to 3 February 2017, we carried out an audit of the planning and execution of work on hydrocarbon-carrying systems for the Goliat facility.

Background and objective

The audit was a sub-activity of an audit series that will continue throughout 2017. The background to this sub-audit includes the seven hydrocarbon leaks that occurred in 2016.

The objective of the audit was to follow up how ENI is managing risk associated with work on hydrocarbon-carrying systems, and how the compensatory measures implemented for this area are working.

Result

The audit detected one non-conformity associated with knowledge of the status of safety systems.

In addition, improvement points were detected in connection with:

  • Management of competence for personnel with responsibilities and duties linked to hydrocarbon-carrying systems.
  • Dissemination of information
  • Procedures
  • Key locks on valves liable to be incorrectly operated.

ENI has been given a deadline of 12 May 2017 to report on how the non-conformity will be dealt with and how the improvement points will be assessed.

Kårstø

Kårstør gas and condensate processing plant is located in Tysvær municipality, Rogaland.

Kårstø receives rich gas and unstabilised condensate (light oil), which are separated into liquid products and dry gas. The dry gas is transported by pipeline to continental Europe. The liquid stream is separated into different products and is shipped out on special carriers.
