Aker BP applied for consent on 20 January 2017 for the use of the new Mærsk Invincible jack-up facility. The consent was granted on 4 May 2017. Since this is the first time Mærsk Invincible will have been used, we wanted to audit how Aker BP is ensuring that the facility is suitable for use at Valhall. We wanted to conduct the audit before the 2017-2018 winter season began.

Objective

The objective of the audit was to perform spot checks of whether the site-specific analyses of the jack-up facility complied with applicable regulations.

Result

No non-conformities were identified.

Two improvement points were identified in connection with:

  • Control and verification in accordance with the Norwegian Maritime Directorate's regulations
  • Analyses in accordance with DNV GL's regulations
