The audit was conducted as a series of meetings with operating companies ConocoPhillips, Statoil and Lundin, facility owners Odfjell Drilling, Transocean and Maersk Drilling, and contractors Halliburton, Schlumberger Norge and Baker Hughes.
The cement pumping unit is used both during normal activities and emergencies, and is an important component of drilling operations. It is used to cement casings and the cement is an important feature of the reservoir barriers when shutting down and abandoning the well.
Objective
The objective was to clarify how the coordination between the operators, owners and well service companies works, including in terms of roles and responsibilities, supervisory duty and compliance, communication and dissemination.
Result
No non-conformities were identified.
Three improvement points were identified in connection with:
- Audits
- Regulatory requirements for maintenance management
- Barrier management
The companies have been given a deadline of 29 January 2016 to report on how the improvement points will be dealt with.
