Objective

The objective of the activity was to verify that the onshore facilities are meeting the regulatory requirements for reducing the likelihood of a major accident. We particularly investigated the work processes intended to result in risk reduction, continuous improvement and systematic registration of non-conformities. This includes how the processes are managed and how the organisation as a whole is involved in the work.

Result

Following the individual audits, each onshore facility and Gassco received a report summarising the audit.  We found differences between the facilities in a number of areas, but all the facilities stated their objective of working as systematically as possible to reduce risk. Read the audit reports here:

During recent months, the occurrence of incidents at the onshore facilities confirms that risk reduction requires sustained and continuous efforts. With the experience that the onshore facilities possess, some types of incident should be possible to avoid. This will require further intensification of improvement work.
