Objective
The Tambar oil field is operated by BP. The field is in the southern part of the northern North Sea, around 16 kilometres southeast of the Ula field. The field has been developed using a remotely controlled wellhead facility without processing equipment.
BP has applied for operating life extension for Tambar until 1 January 2022.
The purpose of the audit was to monitor how BP is complying with the regulatory requirements concerning emergency preparedness.
Result
No non-conformities were identified during the audit.
Improvement points were identified relating to:
- Physical fitness of helideck personnel
- Rescue of injured persons from cranes
- Change in the use of emergency preparedness vessel
- Training of emergency preparedness staff
We have asked BP to respond by 20 June 2016 concerning how the improvement points will be addressed.
