The audit took place on 16 and 17 June 2015 and concerned Lundin’s drilling using mobile facilities, with an emphasis on risk-reduction processes in respect of site-specific anchoring analyses especially when drilling exploration wells on the Alta and Ørnen fields.
Objective
The objective was to verify that Lundin is:
- Verifying the site-specific analyses and that the verification is performed in compliance with the regulations
- Choosing robust solutions for the lines
- Following up the choice and quality of the lines and condition monitoring (fulfilling the supervisory responsibility)
- Adopting a regulatory approach to meteorological and oceanographical conditions in the area, with the aim of reducing the likelihood of new line breaks.
Result
No regulatory non-conformities were identified during the audit.
Improvement points were identified relating to:
- Quality control and verification of analyses
- The effect of viscosity on the anchoring analyses
- Calibration of model results for meteorological and oceanographical conditions
- Learning from own incidents
- Quality control of reports and analytical tools
- Use of standards
What happens next?
We have asked Lundin to give us their assessment of the improvement points identified by 18 September 2015.
