Objective
The purpose of an audit of technical safety is to investigate whether selected barriers and their performance requirements comply with requirements set out in regulations, standards and governing documents.
Explosion loads, structural capacity, uncertainties in risk assessments, overpressure protection and pressure relief are areas that may emphasised.
Result
The audit was well organised and both presentations and interviews evinced a high level of openness.
The PSA identified three improvement points during the audit. These concerned safety-critical equipment, a valve interlock system and alarms.
